Harvest time is here!

With the crisp fall air swirling with leaves, it is the perfect time to grab a pumpkin spice latte and go exploring one of the pumpkins patches in our backyard.  There are quite a few local farms that are open to the public at this time of year.  It can be such fun to tromp through a field in pursuit of the perfect carving pumpkin.  There are also so many  recipes for utilizing pumpkins and squash - from sweet dishes like pumpkin bread to savory delights like pumpkin soup.  Delicious!  Some of these farms cater to kiddos by offering hay rides, corn maizes and petting animals.  So if you have some free time in the next few weeks, take the time to see what great farms and pumpkins patches we have available to us.  I love living in Gig Harbor!

If you know about any others, please feel free to post info here!  I personally have been to Terrie's berries, where they accommodated a group of toddlers on a hayride, green bean picking, chicken feeding, pumpkin picking extravaganza!  It was excellent.  Creek House Farm is also excellent, but last year their pumpkins sold out fast!
